Getting started

What is playd.me?+
playd.me is a beat distribution platform for independent producers. You upload your beats, build packs — curated selections — and send private listening links to A&Rs, artists, and managers. Every link is tracked, so you see exactly who opened your pack, which beats they played, and how long they listened.
Is it free to use?+
Yes. The free plan lets you upload unlimited beats and keep up to 5 active send links at a time. Upgrading to Pro removes that limit and unlocks additional features.
How do I upload my beats?+
Go to Library → Upload beats. Drag and drop MP3 or WAV files, then add metadata (title, BPM, key, genre) directly from the library. Beats are ready to include in packs immediately after upload.

Sending packs

What is a pack?+
A pack is a curated selection of beats you want to share with a specific person. You can build different packs for different recipients — a trap selection for one A&R, a drill selection for another — and track each one separately.
How does a send link work?+
When you create a send, playd.me generates a unique private link tied to a recipient. When they open it, they land on a clean listening page with just your beats — no account required on their end. Every play, replay, and session is tracked back to your dashboard in real time.
Can recipients download my beats?+
Only if you allow it. When creating a send, you can toggle download access on or off. Downloads are disabled by default, so your beats are protected unless you explicitly enable it.
Can I set an expiry date on a link?+
Yes. When creating a send you can optionally set an expiry date. The link stops working automatically after that date. You can also deactivate any link manually at any time from the Sends page.
What happens when I reach the 5-link limit on the free plan?+
You can still view all your existing sends and their analytics, but you won't be able to create new active links until you deactivate one or upgrade to Pro. Your contacts and beats are never affected.

Analytics & engagement

How is the engagement score calculated?+
Each send is scored out of 100 based on five signals: whether the link was opened (+20), play activity (+up to 20), number of return sessions (+up to 20), average listen completion (+up to 20), and replays (+up to 20). The score reflects genuine listening intent, not just a click.
What do "Warm lead" and "Hot lead" mean?+
"Opened" means the link was viewed but no beats were played. "Warm lead" (score 40+) means the person actually pressed play — meaningful engagement. "Hot lead" (score 70+) indicates multiple sessions, replays, or long listen times — this person is genuinely interested.
What counts as a session?+
A new session is recorded each time the send link is opened from a new browser or device, or after more than 30 minutes of inactivity. Multiple plays in one sitting count as a single session.

Contacts

Where do contacts come from?+
Contacts are created automatically when you send a pack to a named recipient. You can also add contacts manually from the Contacts page, or import them in bulk via CSV.
What fields can I store for a contact?+
Name, email, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, SoundCloud, Spotify, phone, label or affiliation, genre, and notes. You can also track deal stage (Prospect → Sent → Engaged → In talks → Placed → Passed).
What format does the CSV import accept?+
Download the template from the Contacts page — it includes all supported columns. The importer accepts both full profile URLs and plain handles for social fields, and normalises them automatically. Up to 500 contacts per import.

Account & billing

How do I upgrade my plan?+
Go to Settings → Billing. Upgrading to Pro removes the active-links limit and unlocks Pro-only features.
How do I delete my account?+
Go to Settings and scroll to the Danger zone section. You can request permanent account deletion there. All beats, contacts, sends, and analytics data will be removed.
